Jean's time at Ruddington Manor

Mum was single-minded in wanting to stay in her own home, in spite of her decreasing mobility and increasing frailty. We'd talked about  warden-aided accommodation, but by then it seemed that a second move - to a care home - would be needed very soon after. In the event it was failing health that precipitated the move to Ruddington Manor Care Centre near to us in Nottingham, in the late summer of 2019.

As it happened the Covid pandemic prevented all the family experiences that we'd expected to have with Mum in her final 12 months. But in "Rud Manor" there was plenty of 'love, joy and laughter' thanks to the manager Tracy and her excellent staff, including all the carers and the ebullient Amy and her Wellbeing team. I hope I get to live somewhere like that if/when I need care!

There is a collage of images if you go to the Videos Gallery. The final clip is from the virtual tour of Buckingham Palace that they organised especially for Mum (a nod to her keen interest in all things royal!).
